-The Journal News reports that the Yankees are the only team going after Jarrod Washburn and that Seattle won't get Brett Gardner and doesn't have any leverage. Reports out of Seattle say that the Mariners have talked to a lot of other teams about Washburn and the arrogant NY writers are to blame for the rumors that said the Yanks were close to getting Washburn for next to nothing. Credit must be given to MLBTradeRumors for this one. By the by, the Journal News also reports that Pedro Martinez is slated as the starter for Friday's game against Houston.
