D-back Shocker
In what seemed to be a series that favored the Cubs, the Arizona Diamondbacks totally outplayed the Cubbies in a 3 game sweep. The Diamondbacks lead by youngsters Stephen Drew and Chris Young will be playing in the NLCS against either the Rockies or Phillies. They showed all baseball fans, including myself, what they are capable of doing by beating the favorites to represent the National League in the World Series. If anyone told me before the season the Diamondbacks would make the playoffs, let alone advance to the NLCS, I would have laughed at him. I was wrong about the Diamondbacks, they are not an up and coming team, they are ready to win now. Congrats D-backs!!
NFL Daily Presents: Week 5 ATS
Week five, how the season if flying by. I shall make my selections rhyme this week, and hopefully you'll hop and skip all the way to the bank.
- The Dolphins defense has been less than stellar, that's why you'll find them in the cellar. Schaub and Johnson will do well for coach Kubiak, Houston takes the 4.5 and never looks back.
- Joey Harrington has been playing out of his mind, so this week I'll say he makes it 3 of a kind. VY may need a heroic 4th quarter or a sort of TD drive, by George I'll take Atlanta to cover 7.5.
- Was that Damon Huard playing like Unitas? Everything he touched, turned to gold like Midas. Don't expect that to happen a 2nd time, the Jags D hits so hard that it should be a crime. The running game will pound it out, and J-Ville will show LJ what it's about. Give me Jacksonville on the road plus 3, in fact I'd give it to them easily.
- This week, Chadwick Pennington will meet the floor. Soon the Jets fans will show him the door. The Giants D will be a wrecking crew, and will have Gang Green feeling black & blue. Revis against Burress? That's not fair play! Giants plus the three, have a good day.
- The dying Saints had a week to prepare, so they better play like a team in despair. Brees will not fair well without his Deuce, and I'll bet that for the Panthers, last week was a ruse. Not they're style, a farce, just a mirage. Watch Smith pair with Foster lead the Carolina barrage. Give me the Panthers on the road plus the 3, watch out New Orleans it's about to get ugly.
- If Arizona had a heart, they'd lend the Rams Warner or Leinart. St Louis may have to settle for Gus Ferrotte, and it sure does seem like half their offense has been shot. Similarly the Rams have been left for dead, and the Cards dizzying O will have STL seeing red. It doesn't matter what QB the Cards use, Arizona will give the Rams a lot of abuse. 1.5 seems like a joke, but it's found money for someone who may be broke.
- It seems that in odd weeks, Cleveland reeks. And with a game against the Patriots the trend won't end. Oh wherefore art thou Romeo, come crane your neck. It's Moss, and Brady, and coach Bellichik. Come Cleveland Browns to Foxboro Mass, where your team will be harshly kicked in the...2 TD plus win for New England.
- Confodence was lost losing to your old mates, and the Seahawks look confident and somewhat irate. The run will be stopped and Big Ben will make mistakes, Alexander will scamper and Branch make your heart break. Have you seen Seattle entrenched in war? Take the Seahawks to cover, Pittsburgh doesn't know what it's in for.
- Santana Moss is quite a big loss, and Jason Campbell may find it hard for whom to toss. Look at Kitna, McDonald, Furrey, Johnson, and Roy, to show the Redskins D who's the real McCoy. The Lions will not be stopped by some Soulja Boy, and the Redskins will be knocked around like a soldier toy. Detroit with the points, I'm accurate like a dart and to all you Skins fans, Hail To Air Martz!
- The Bucs haven't seen an offense led by someone like Manning, the whole D may be frightened like Dakota Fanning. The Colts are well oiled, Tampa's stiff in the joints, it may take 120 minutes for the Bucs to keep up in points. Indy will score with Harrison, Wayne, Clark, and Addai, and please coach Chucky, please don't cry. Colts plus 10.
- The Broncos never beat the Bolts, just like Shanny can never defeat the Colts. So rest easy coach Norv Turner, the Denver rush D is weak, and LT's a burner. In the 4th quarter he'll turn into a churner, and Shanny will be mad, yes even sterner. So give the rock to LT and master the clock, win the game outright and improve your stock.
- Dilfer against the Ravens, how ironic, his terrible play will make Baltimore look iconic. This might be ugly for Niner fans, so pass the gin and tonic and watch your team get smashed like a slush at Sonic. Don't you dare bring that weak Dilfer action, and watch McGahee and the defense be the main attraction. So give me Baltimore plus the four, and let EAP scream never more.
- Favre is hot, the Bear pass D is not. This game may not turn into a jester, but this game could see a lot of Devin Hester. Griese and Benson will likely be dead meat, as Hawk and co will devour them like venison. Chicago has been dethroned, long live the king! Pack by over 4, this one may sting.
- Ah memory lane! Super Bowl lore! Too bad the Buffalo Bills can't score. The Bills on prime time seems like a crime, but never fear it's Tony Romo time. This one will be over by the end of the 3rd quarter, so you can change the channel to reruns of Law & Order. 'Boys plus 10.

Around The Majors- Wednesday
It's playoff time, and if Monday night's thriller is any indication of the October excitement we're gonna have, then it's gonna be a wild ride. The Mets won't be on this ride known as the postseason, but they will keep manager Willie Randolph but the rest of the coaching staff could be a different story. As heralded as Rick Peterson is, the staff faltered down the stretch and he could pay for it with his job. Another Met that was key to the collapse was Tom Glavine, he'll be declining his option for next season and rumors are already starting that he could head to either Washington or back to Atlanta. Speaking of the Braves, GM John Schuerholz has told CF Andruw Jones that they will not be resigning him, and he will head elsewhere. Jones batted a paltry .222 in 2007, his worst year since becoming a starting player 10 years ago, all spent with Atlanta. In managerial news, Jim Leyland had his contract extended by the Tigers until 2009, and Cards skipper Tony LaRussa will take some time to decide whether he'll return to the Cards in 2008. Carlos Pena and Dmitri Young were named the comeback players of the year, congrats to them and their terrible teams.
Division Series Notes
- The Red Sox will be without supersub postseason pitcher Tim Wakefield because of a back injury, and will carry a 3rd catcher in Kevin Cash instead. Jon Lester will be used in long relief. Their opponents the Angels will be without both Bartolo Colon and Gary Matthews Jr. Reggie Willits will be in CF and Erik Aybar replaces him on the LDS roster. Adam Eaton will be off the postseason roster for the Phillies after a 10-10 season with an ERA of 6.29. Hamels, Kendrick, Lohse, and Moyer will start for Philadelphia.
Divsion Series Picks
Angels vs Red Sox
The BoSox are banged up, but the Angels are a good matchup for them. John Lackey has to pitch at Fenway Park in game one, where he has a lifetime ERA of over 7. But if the Halos can manage a win in Boston, they could easily take the series with their MLB leading home record and some Rally Monkey mojo. The Angels will have to scratch and claw for every run they get, and their bullpen hasn't been that great as of late. Neither has Boston's pen, but a deeper staff will win them the series in 4.
Indians vs Yankees
Everyone is concentrating on A-Rod, but the pitching will have to do much more with the series. The Indians have a clear advantage over the Yankees in the starting staff, but if New York gets a lead after 6, the Joba Rules have been lifted and it's him and Mariano Rivera for the finish. Both lineups are really talented, but a psychological edge shouldn't be discounted. Not only do the Yanks have that experience factor, they're also 6-0 this year against the Tribe. But SOS, the Yankees never faced CC Sabathia? Cleveland never faced Chien Ming Wang, and Joe Borowski has been trouble this season. I'll take the Yankees in 5.
Diamondbacks vs Cubs
Both pitching staffs have been excellent this year, but the deciding factor could be keeping Carlos Zambrano away from the Wrigley mound. His road record is sensational, and he'll be throwing games 1 and 5 on the road in Phoenix. The depth in the starting staffs also go the Cubbies way, with Doug Davis and Livan Hernandez going after Brandon Webb. I think this will be the tightest series, with Chicago winning in 5.
Phillies vs Rockies
Both lineups are fantastic, and both clubs have incredible momentum. High octane baseball and lots of homers will be on the menu, but none of the Rockies have been there before. The Phillies bullpen has been terrible, but they have guys like Tom Gordon and JC Romero who have climbed the mountain before. But sometimes inexperienced power arms like the ones Colorado have in Ubaldo Jimenez and Franklin Morales could be the difference. This is really tough to call, so i flipped a coin and have the Rox in 5.

Playoff Picks
Colorado Rockies v. Philadelphia Phillies
This series will go to the team that out slugs the other team. The Rockies have a strong lineup lead by MVP candidate Matt Holliday, veterans Todd Helton and Garrett Atkins, and rookie Troy Tulowitzki. They are a great defensive ball club, and have an extremely good bullpen. The Phillies also have one of the best lineups in the National League. Their leadoff hitter Jimmy Rollins is a game changer, while Chase Utley and Ryan Howard are just lethal to any pitcher they face. Both teams weakness lies in their starting pitchers. While the Phillies do have the advantage with Cole Hamels in game one, I wouldn't trust the likes of Mark Redmand (Rockies) and Kyle Lohse (Phillies). The Rockies bullpen has a shot at neutralizing the Phillies lineup, but the Phillies bullpen have been terrible against anybody but the Mets this year. I'm taking the Rockies, because they will beat up on any pitcher not named Cole Hamels and I don't like Brett Myers in a big spot. Rockies in 5
Chicago Cubs v. Arizona Diamondbacks
The Cubs have a significant advantage going into this series. To simply put it they have a lot of players on their roster who have been to the playoffs before, while the Diamondbacks are very young and inexperienced. If Brandon Webb doesn't win game 1 for the D'backs, it will be very hard for them to win the series. This will be a good learning experience for the Diamondbacks and I expect to see them in the playoffs for years to come, but the Cubs will ultimately win this series. Cubs in 4
Los Angeles Angels v. Boston Red Sox
This should be a very competitive series, because both teams have great pitching. The Angels showcase John Lackey and Kelvim Escobar, while the Red Sox send out 20 game winner Josh Beckett and Dice-K. Both teams also have very good bullpens anchored by 2002 playoff hero Francisco Rodriguez, and Boston sensation Jonathan Papelbon. The difference will be the in the lineups. The Angels do have a good lineup, but they lack the power that the Red Sox have. I'll take David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez over Vlad Guerrero and Garrett Anderson.
Red Sox in 4
New York Yankees v. Cleveland Indians
It is make or break time for A-Rod and the Yankees as the face CY Young favorite C.C. Sabathia and the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees will need Chien-Ming Wang to be spectacular in game 1 when he and the Yankees face Sabathia. If the Yankees fail to win game 1, you have to like the Indians chances with Fausto Carmona facing Any Pettitte. On the other hand, if A-rod hits like the MVP he was in the regular season, the Yankees will win the series. Since A-rod is in his contract year (well sort of), I think their is a little extra incentive for him to do well and lead the Yankees to the ALCS.

A-Train Express- Sports Stop
This may be the only night without major sports going for a while but there is still sports brewing on the A-Train Express. First stop is the NFL:
- Brett Favre. This record breaking QB is throwing bombs and the b-e-autiful slant pattern. I'm telling you, if he shed a few pounds and lost the beard i might have thought he was in his twenties. And did you see the way that kid ran down the field to congratulate himself, and his receiver of course. The guy looks like a kid who just beat up the bully in school. Way to excited, but it is nice to see. Too bad a man named Peyton is going to shatter all of the records you could imagine.
- Daunte Culpepper is the man. He now not only can throw touchdown passes but he could run for them too. Three of them to be exact. We all knew he had some wheels but he was rolling like the road runner's legs. I think he had 31 fantasy points. This is guy who doesn't have anyone named Randy or Chris anymore. Now that's impressive. Look out the Raiders are winning!
- I don't like Tom Brady so much but he is immune to defensive pressure. Its flat out unreal. I hate the fact that he has four (not including the two tight ends) receivers who can catch. I hate the fact that he had the most completions in his first 100 passes than anyone ever. I hate the fact that he's like a model and that he's considered a celebrity. And most importantly, i hate the look on his face after he got hit against the Bengals. It was like, "I'm Tom Brady, I'm to pretty to get hit, and that not in my contract, I want a bonus for this." He is so damn good though and Randy Moss has 7 TD receptions so while the Pats are going 16-0, I just kick back relax and enjoy the Jets.
-Next Stop MLB Playoffs:
Predictions:
NL: Cubs over D-Backs- 4 games
Rockies over Phillies- 5 games
Cubs over Rockies- 6 games
AL: Indians over Yankees- 5 games
Red Sox over Angels- 4 games
Indians over Red Sox- 7 games
Word Series:
Indians over Cubs- 5 games
WS MVP- Grady Sizemore
NL MVP: Matt Holliday
AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez
NL Cy Young: Jake Peavy
AL Cy Young: Josh Beckett
NL ROY: Ryan Braun
AL ROY: Dustin Pedroia
- Thats all for now, till next time, eat, drink and sleep sports.

NFL Daily Presents: Analytical Assault Week 4
Lots of storylines to get to as usual, and input from Matt Williamson of Scouts' INC.
- Since the Falcons signed Byron Leftwich, Joey Harrington has been a different player. He was 22/29 with 2 TD tosses as Bobby Petrino got his first win over the Texans, where Matt Schaub was looking to exact revenge on his former club. He did well, but Atlanta controlled the clock for almost 35 minutes, and were 7/15 on 3rd down in the win. Sadly, even the Dirty Birds are in this NFC South race.
- The Bills-Jets game was one of the most pathetic matchups I've seen in quite a while. It was scoreless at halftime, but not in an exciting way. Pennington went 32/39, but he threw 2 picks and can't lead his team down the field in a two minute drill because his arm is an obvious liability. If he doesn't put up some wins soon, especially against the Giants next week, many will call for Kellen Clemens to be the starter. I say, why wait so long? Start Clemens now, and don't throw this season away. The rushing game was once again on the fritz, and the defense couldn't stop Trent Edwards and Lee Evans. Buffalo is not very good, and it speaks volumes to how dire the situation is for Gang Green. It may only be week 5, but in the strong AFC, the season is on the brink for the Jets. And how right was Chris Collinsworth in week one when he said that the AFC East race was over after the Jets lost to New England at home? Big ups to Collinsworth on that one.
- Can anyone figure out the Cleveland Browns? They go from terrible to tremendous at a staggering rate, and could hang around the playoff picture. They did a great job capitalizing on turnovers, including a 78 yard TD strike to Braylon Edwards, and scoring after a fumbled return. Special teams are killing the Ravens this season. Derek Anderson only threw 18 times, but had a staggering 11.3 yards per attempt which more then offset an average day from Jamal Lewis. On the Baltimore side, it's always trouble when Steve McNair has to throw it 53 times to only 20 rushes. The Ravens have to play much better against division opponents or they're going to find themselves on the outside looking in faster than anyone expected.
- Matt Mosley said something to the degree of The Greatest Show On Turf officially switching to the other sideline as Dallas dominated a battered and bruised Rams team that may have already seen their chances go out the window. Tony Romo had an incredible run for a first down, caped off that drive with a TD run, and started the 2nd half by throwing 3 straight TD tosses to put the contest out of reach. Not only do the Cowboys lead the NFL in points scored, they also lead in turnover differential; something vastly overlooked by numerous league pundits. Dallas possesses a dizzying array of weapons, and it was Patrick Crayton's turn to have a career day. Marc Bulger is obviously suffering from rib injuries, and if you're Scott Linehan you may want to surrender the battle (this season) to win the war (the duration of his career). The St Louis coach definitely did the right thing by pulling him in the 4th after throwing an interception to Ken Hamlin. The Rams offense looks dormant, and there's little hope for them this season.
- The "vaunted" Bears defense allowed 34 points in the 4th quarter (an all time record) as the Lions ripped victory out of the hands of defeat. John Clayton joked that the Bears may want to start snapping it to Devin Hester and just allowing him to run. Once again, the incredible lack of pass-run balance ended up in a loss for a team. 52 throws for Brian Griese (3 INT's) and just 22 runs, 15 of those by overmatched back Cedric Benson. I asked Matt Williamson about who would be able to recover from their poor start, the Bears or the Chargers?
"SD for sure. Both can recover, but Chi has injury issues on top of poor execution. SD's roster is more talented."
- Daunte Culpepper will tell you that he had nothing against the Miami organization after he was traded and escorted off of the team's practice facility. But I could smell that BS from coast to coast, and he took out his rage on the seemingly helpless Dolphins defense. 2 TD passes and 3 TD runs, and they controlled the clock for over 35 minutes. When a QB only throws 12 times, and still wins by a healthy margin, it proves that the running game was ultimately superior. Oakland ran the ball 49 times at an unbelievable 6.1 yards per carry. Fargas and Jordan both played really well, but another impressive performance from Ronnie Brown should not be overlooked. That's his 2nd straight week with over 200 yards from scrimmage.
- It was Brett Favre's day and nobody was going to stop him; not even the great Vikings defense. But it was the Minnesota D that suffered from Bolts & Bears syndrome, stopping the run subsequently followed by getting shredded in the air. Common symptoms include losses, and identical 1-3 records for all 3 teams. And the 4 teams that abused the Vikes, Bolts, and Bears (Pats, Cowboys, Lions, Pakcers) are a combined 15-1. Coincidence? Another example of pass to run losers, Minnesota had 39 Kelly Holcomb passes (1 costly INT) and just 22 rushes (an inexcusably low 12 by Adrian Peterson). And is there anyone better at spreading the ball around than Favre besides for Tom Brady? 10 different receivers caught passes, and millions of Packers fans are catching 4-0 fever.
- The Niners looked flat as a pancake in a huge division game, and the 2-3 week loss to Alex Smith could prove costly as Frisco was looking to capitalize on a very winnable NFC West. Those things took a hit on Sunday, when Matt Hasselbeck was efficient and Mike Holmgren's offense had the football for over 36 minutes in the win. Deion Branch had another strong performance for Seattle, who seem to now be the clear favorites in the division. What was worse for the 49ers was how dreadful Trent Dilfer was (12/33 and 2 picks). Mike Nolan may need to rent out the old Ravens defense in which Dilfer was the QB, because it doesn't look like Frank Gore can carry this team on his back.
- It was a mixed bag for the Buccaneers, as their ship is currently headed in the right direction. Matt Williamson summed the Bucs and pitiful Panthers up pretty precisely:
"First off, the Panthers are dissapointing and Carr isn't the answer! TBay is good. How good? I think a nine win team at most in a poor division. The D is for real. Curious how the Caddy and Petigout injuries affect things. Grude(n) for Coach of the Year? Saving his job."
The running game performed well for Tampa, but their loss of Caddy Williams and OL Luke Petitgout for the season with knee injuries is potentially devastating. How devastating?
"Huge blows to that O. Still, that division isn't tough at all. "
Considering that their biggest threat has 19/41 David Carr as their QB, the Bucs could be in the driver's seat. Carolina looked flat, and the Bucs 3:1 run-pass ratio allowed the Tampa D to rest, as well as the Panther offense. If the defense is playing poorly, and the offense blows, Carolina could be stuck in a season long catch-22 that could lead to a pink slip for John Fox.
- It's the same story every week. Indy goes down, it looks like doom and despair, and they nonchalantly rally and come up with a win against a struggling Denver team. A Marvin Harrison injury (he seems OK) and an early 10-0 defecit was seen as a joke for Peyton Manning, who found Dallas Clark in the end zone twice. But why did Peyton have less than 200 yards passing? Because when your team runs the ball 37 times at 6.1 yards a clip, who needs passing? Obviosuly Denver, who ran the ball at 6.2 yards a rush but Travis Henry had as many yards on the ground as Jay Cutler had passing (131). Marlin Jackson forced two turnovers and secured another workman-like victory for the Colts.
- Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. This old saying got former Steelers assistants Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm changed their team colors to red, and made the Black & Gold green in the face as they exacted revenge on Pittsburgh with an upset win, knocking Mike Tomlin's crew from the ranks of the unbeaten. The "Warnart" QB duo provided another nice outing, but it didn't stop former USC golden boy Leinart from kvetching after the game about playing time. Arizona won this game even without Anquan Boldin, because Larry Fitzgerald picked up the slack, they got a TD on special teams, and the run defense was superb against the game's leading rusher, Willie Parker. It's a known fact that when Ben Roethlisberger has to throw the ball more then 30 times, he tends to screw up and lose. Just look at the Idiot Motorcycle Era of the Steelers last year, when Big Ben led the league in picks. He had 2 yesterday, and though Santonio Holmes had a big day, the former Steeler coaches ended up with the last laugh. Perhaps it may not look so Grimm after all in Phoenix.
- There's a shortage for the Chargers. Turnovers and a defense lacking juice was especially prevalent in the 2nd half, when the Chiefs outscored the Powderpuff Boys 24-0 in the 2nd half, making this Damon Huard offense look like the old Green-Gonzalez-Holmes-Hall days of several years ago. Larry Johnson finally played well, and rookie Dwayne Bowe had a sensational day, and got one of SOS' fantasy teams a much needed win. This game provided another example of a young QB losing a game when he has to throw too often. Subject B: P, Rivers who threw 42 times with 2 picks and a lost fumble. LT only had 20 carries when he was playing so well, and yet another pass-run ratio loss. Can you believe people have been calling for Norv Turner's head already? (Um, yes). There have been rumors going around that USC head coach Pete Carroll would take the SD job if he was given full control. Matt Williamson discussed the rumor:
"I don't have any inside info and I heard that on Mike and Mike this morning. Still, it doesn't really add up to me. Why get rid of AJ Smith? He has done a fantastic job of putting together a great roster. Well, I guess Carroll could just come in and use what is there, but I wouldn't trust him on the personnel end of things, especially over Smith."
Considering it was Smith's idea to scrap Martyball, could Carroll make any worse decisions?
- ABC may want to get their hands on this one: Extreme Makeover, Giants Defense Edition. After giving up 80 points to the NFC's two best squads, they stuff two division teams, and best the team sack record with 12. In fact, Big Blue had so many sacks, that they would make any big time corporate exec jealous. Osi Umenyiora was harder on the Eagles than the spelling of his last name, and overall the Giants put on a clinic. McNabb fumbled 3 times, but the last one was recovered and returned for a score that put this contest (or lack thereof) out of reach. Derrick Ward continues to stake his claim to the starting RB job, and Correll Buckhalter performed well in Michael Westbrook's stead. In closing, the Eagles deserved getting pounded for wearing such ugly jerseys the week before, and I applaud New York for slamming Philadelphia as a punishment. Justice was definitely served, Winston and otherwise.
- I've been saving this one up for a while, but the Patriots defense made Ocho Cinco look like Ocho Stinko. For all his trash talking this season, he was literally trahsed in the end zone in Cleveland in a loss, and his team was trashed by New England on MNF. Both teams were without their starting backs, but Sammy Morris picked up the slack, and Randy Moss continues to pull a Vince Carter with his stellar performances. Take a bow Randy, you managed to shut Chad Johnson up (for now). Soon, Moss will try to lower gas prices, balance the budget, and create alternative energy sources. Out of energy from writing all this, I'm out and you've just been assaulted.
Around The Majors- Monday
The American League is set, with Boston hosting the Angels and the Yankees visiting Cleveland. The NL had a lot of turmoil on the regular season's final day, including the Mets completing one of the largest collapses in sports history, getting tagged by the Marlins, while the Phillies got their first division title and playoff appearance since their NL Pennant year of 1993. New York was up 7 games with 17 to play, and they just didn't have that sense of urgency save their Saturday win. But in that 13-0 blowout win over Florida, they enraged the Marlins, who had zero reason to put out any kind of effort on the final day. Due to the brawl and melee that ensued the previous day, it gave the Fish a sense of passion and determination, and it seemed like everything was on the line for them. That couldn't be any more opposite then what it was. In Philadelphia, the fans were riled up, and the players had that vigor and enthusiasm, led by Jimmy Rollins. It's not just his numbers are fantastic and worthy of this year's NL MVP, it's his leadership, his day in and day out effort of giving it his all every day (he played all 162), and his courage to stir the pot at the beginning of the season. He proclaimed that the Phils were the team to beat in the NL East, and not only did he back it up, he riled up his team and an entire city starving for a winner.
Another team that badly want to taste October baseball is Colorado, who have reeled off 12 of 13 to force a 1 game playoff with San Diego, who have faltered down the stretch, particularly after the infamous Milton Bradley incident. Not only have the Rockies fed off stellar play from Matt Holliday and stud rookie Troy Tulowitzki, they've gotten good outings from their young starters Ubaldo Jimenez and Franklin Morales, and a stable back end of the bullpen with youngster Manny Corpas. This team could be dangerous in the long term, but they have to beat Jake Peavy and the Friars tonight at 7:30 on TBS and ESPN Radio. The Rox send hot starter Josh Fogg.
One game overlooked because of the pennant races was the final game of future Hall of Famer, Long Island native, and all out gamer and lifer Craig Biggio. He was the ultimate team player, constantly changing positions over the years, and always being a franchise cornerstone for the Astros. There are fewer and fewer players like this, and everyone should take a moment to realize what kind of player baseball is losing in Biggio.
In closing, I'll give my Fantasy Top 30 for this year based on the SprungOnSports points system.

A-Train Express- Quick NFL Picks
Houston @ Atlanta: Matt Schaub's return is sweet as they stomp on the soon to be 0-4 Falcons.
Ravens @ Browns: Jamal Lewis tries to show the Ravens D who is boss but falls short, Ravens win.
Jets @ Bills: Thomas Jones proves that Marshawn Lynch isn't the only good RB is NY, Jets win.
Rams @ 'Boys: Didnt think this would happen but the Rams are about to start 0-4 as Romo Mania continues.
Bears @ Lions: The Lion beats the Bear in this situation. I think the stronger animal has won this battle.
Raiders @ Phins: Ronnie Brown likes playing well and he thinks it will become consistent, Phins win.
Packers @ Vikes: Favre is playing like he's 25, end of sentence.
Bucs @ Panthers: Home field goes to Carolina, pick up a win.
Seattle @ San Fran: If Alex Smith has a good game against these corners it could be pretty but Vernon Davis is out. 49ers win a close and good one.
Steelers @ Cardinals: Cards win because I like their coach and they have a pretty solid offense.
Broncos @ Colts: Peyton has a tough time dealing with Bly and Bailey. Broncos pull one off.
Chiefs @ Chargers: Chargers look Super as LT and Rivers have great games.
Eagles @ Giants: Divide the 56 points from last week by 3 and they win still beat this Giants D.
Monday Night Upset: Bengals over Pats
