According to Buster Olney and 1050 ESPN Radio in New York, the Yankees have offered Joe Girardi (and not Don Mattingly!!!!) a 3 year contract worth 6 million dollars to manage the team. He's currently in Denver and an announcement will reportedly be made tomorrow. This comes as the only good news in a while for the Yankees, who have lost a playoff series, their longtime manager, and most likely their best player. This is undoubtedly the right move, and the new Joe will bring continued success to the Yankees franchise.
