Connecticut 69, Morgan State 65
The UConn Huskies opened their season with a scare on Wednesday, barely scraping out a win against Morgan State. The unranked Huskies missed the postseason altogether last season, but tonight they showed some flashes of NCAA tournament-caliber talent. All those underclassmen from last year's team return, and they have a lot of talent with a year or two already under their belts. Morgan State kept it close, but I'm not too worried about UConn. They're defense was very impressive. Their offense will probably improve as the season goes on. Jeff Adrien continues to prove he is one of the better players in the big east, and he finished with 12 and 10. Jim Calhoun's squad will play Buffalo tomorrow night.
