Wednesday Trade Rumors

The latest rumors and some talk about the rumors with Keith Law of ESPN and Scouts INC.

Rumors
- The Dodgers could be contenders to land Mark Teixeira if they include James Loney in a deal. They may also want Clayton Kershaw. They'd want either Casey Kotchman or Reggie Willits and a pitcher from the Angels, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and a pitcher from Atlanta, Adam Jones and a pitcher from Seattle. (Dallas Morning News)
- The Yankees may just let Andy Phillips play first base, especially given that there's no signifigant upgrade except for Teixeira, who would cost too much in terms of prospects. (Newsday)
- The White Sox would like to move Jermaine Dye, Tadahito Iguchi, and Jose Contreras. The Cubs may deal for Kenny Lofton or Eric Gagne. (Daily Herald)
- Reggie Sanders wouldn't mind a trade to the Red Sox. (Boston Herald)
- Boston is looking at dealing for Chad Qualls, Dan Wheeler, or Scott Linebrink. (Providence Journal)
- The Yankees are trying to trade Scott Proctor for Wilson Betemit of the Dodgers. Atlanta is close to signing Julio Franco. The Yankees are willing to deal any reliever not named Rivera. (NY Post)
- The Yanks are trying to deal either Proctor, Kyle Farnsworth, or Brian Bruney. (Newark Star-Ledger)
- The Cubs are interested in Royals hurler Zach Greinke. (Daily Southtown)

Rumor Talk with Keith Law
Will the Reds end up trading Arroyo and Lohse? Will Dunn stay in Cincy because Krivsky's shooting for the moon?
Keith Law: I think Dunn and Lohse are dealt, but not Arroyo. Lot of teams shied away from Arroyo when the Sox dealt him because he couldn't get LHB out.

Why are the Cardinals not mentioned in any trade rumors?
Keith Law: I think they're still hoping they have a good run in them and don't have to sell. But they also don't have a lot to sell, other than a few relievers. Most of their best players are locked up to long-term deals, or are young and shouldn't be traded.
